The Colwell Center for Global Understanding at the Academy supports programs and activities that foster global education. The Colwell Center partners with Harvard University’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs on several programs to expose students to professionals and scholars in the field of foreign affairs.

Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, where St. Johnsbury resides, has been designated a National Geographic Geotourism site for the extensive natural resources available including hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, camping, skiing and scenic beauty. Shopping, dining, movie theatre, science museum, and other cultural activities are within walking distance of the resident dorms.
